Geomtric Art

Hi, bloggers for the last couple of weeks we have been working on some art for our art exhibition. The art has been all about endemic animlas and birds to New Zeland.

The materials we used were:
  •  Paper ▢
  • Acrylic paint ✏
  • Paint brushes ðŸ–Œ
  1. Before getting started we had to pick an animal that we wanted to draw.
  2. Then we found some images of the animal that we picked and  started sketching them in our art books.
  3. After that we  picked one of the images and insreted it on to a google drawing, then we used some tools like Polyline and Scrible to trace the image.
  4.  When we finshed tracing the image we got a basic outline of the bird or animal that we were doing.
  5.  Then we primed our piece of papper. Primed means put on an undercoat for our background. After priming we strted drawing the image on.
  6.  Then we ruled up some geomtric shapes to put in it.
  7. After that we got to the messy part... painting. (While painting we could only use up to 4 colurs . I used marshmallow pink, purple, brown and orange. )
  8.  When we finshed painting our birds and animlas
  9. \we did an outline of it with black or white paint. Then we painted our backgrounds to the colour that would make our art stand out. Mine was white.

Production

Our school production this year was Pasifica Peter Pan (a twist on an old classic). We started rehearsing early last term and presented to an audience last week, with three performances (two in the evening and one Friday matinee show).  Our song at the end was one of our Jump Jam songs.  The senior syndicate had major and minor roles, both on stage and behind the scenes. The rest of the school performed cultural dances from around the Pacific. Shows were sold out and audiences were treated to a spectacular performance. An amazing end result from all our hard work! Well done!

Technolagy rotation

Hi, bloggers for the past three weeks we have been doing a technology Rotation. We had many different stops like making paper circuits, making a Marble Bridge and making Geo boards . In the paper circuit making we had to try make a light using and LED battery to make a  LED light bulb flash or turn on. After trying that out, we used different materials that have electricity to make a circuit.  Some of the materials we used were LED batteries and light bulbs , tinfoil, split pins and paper clips. Our challenge was to make a switch to turn our LED light bulb  and turn it off again. The thing that I found difficult was trying to get the circuit stable and show perseverance. The next place I went to was making Geo boards. The materials we used were nails, wood and elastic strings.  The Geo board challenge was using measurement to create, using tools to put things together and also taking turns and sharing. The thing I found difficult were nailing the nails in because I ...

Summer learning (week 1/ Day 1)

Today's  activity for the summer learning journey is finding out three top facts about New Zealand on the Tourism New Zealand site.  My first facts about New Zealand is,   New Zealand is part of the pacific rim of fire and it's most active volcano is Mount Ruapehu , which is found in the middle of the North Island . Did you know that? The Auckland sky tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the southern hemisphere, standing at 328 meters high.  Last fact about New Zealand that I found interesting was  30% of the country is forest. So there must be a lot of trees then. CAN YOU FIND OUT SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT NEW ZEALAND? LEAVE A COMMENT ON WHAT YOU FOUND OUT BLOG YOU LATER
